Kingdom of Bad Jokes: Five lessons about how to treat people

1. First Important Lesson - “Know The Cleaning Lady”

During my second month of college, our professor gave us a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had breezed through the questions, until I read the last one: “What is the first name of the woman who cleans the school?”

Surely this…

So as you may be able to tell, the sketchbook thingy has kinda fallen off the radar.

Meh.

I’m gonna go have some coffee…

OH MY GOD :(

I can’t believe it’s the end March already. Seriously. I feel like I’m behind with everything…

._____.

Time to get caught up, I guess…

March’s theme is reptiles and amphibians btw.

Is it too early to think Halloween?

I think this year’s costume will be more elaborate than last year’s. That is, if I can get done everything that I want to get done.At least my eye’s fixed.

In the meantime, here are some more birds. I rather like waterfowl and sea birds…

Feb 5 - Feb 11: Lots of Loons and Grebes

Feb 12 - Feb 18: Albatrosses, Pelicans and related species

More Sketchbookery

…into February and still going. Lately it’s the only sketching I’ve been able to do. Seeing any sort of project seems to take at least twice as long as it should anymore…there aren’t enough hours in the day….

Here’s some January leftovers and doodles from the first week of February.

Jan 29-31: Anteaters, hares and rabbits. Apparently there’s a species known as a ‘pika’…which naturally leads to a pikachu doodle…

February week 1: Flightless birds. It may not be very wintery here…but here’s some penguins…

Sketchbook - Weeks 3 and 4

Made it through the first month of 2012!

I’m surprised I didn’t give up on this weekly sketchbook thing yet. Especially with all of the right eye trouble I’ve been having lately (which is apparently a corneal edema?). At least now with Rx drops, my sight is starting to come back to normal in that eye. Anyway, larger (and perhaps a little more refined) things have been started, but not finished. There’s just not enough time in the day… :(

I’m still working on the white dragon plush I started before Christmas too. Hand sewing is a bitch….

Week 3: Lemurs and monkeys

Week 4: Apes

And finally (just for fun)….

Sketchbook - Weeks 1 and 2

So in an attempt to get myself drawing more regularly in 2012, I’ve started a little project - I’ve dedicated each month to a particular group of animals (mammals, birds, reptiles, etc), and each week of the month will be focused on specific species within the larger group. If I can keep up with it, it should expose me to species I don’t normally work with, and maybe prevent art blocks…

Anyway, I’ve been sketching things just about everyday, and will hopefully finish some of them soon. In the meantime, I’ll post sketchbook pages and perhaps “teaser” type things here on a semi-regular basis (hopefully).

So to kick things off, the month of January has been dedicated to mammals. The first week of the month was dedicated to marsupials and monotremes (that would be the egg-laying mammals), and the second week was dedicated to insectivores and bats (<3).

Lots of drawing done so far…sketchbook pages with some silly doodly stuff below the break. Other stuff is going to be finished works…eventually…
